Trusting God

Teaching Summary

Summary of the message:

My message will be based around putting our full trust in God when waiting and receiving healing. Healing in this sense can be either physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually, healing can be for anything in our lives and we may need to go through trials and tribulations to get it, but in the end, the Lord will fulfil His promise of healing in our lives.

In this message, I will first I will start by defining what trust is and how we the people of God can display a trust for God in our daily walk through confession and, conduct.

The bible says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV).

This means trust is a decision and a daily commitment to follow the Lord, our daily actions show how much we remember the Lord and how strong our bond is with Him, the scripture says that we must first acknowledge Him, and then He will make our paths straight, it is only after acknowledging God that we can see clearly where we are heading and where to go next.

Confession

The waiting period of healing can make us impatient or irritated or for some angry with God, but we should be aware that the enemy is constantly waiting for our wrong confessions to accuse us of not believing and trusting God for what we have asked for.

Our daily confession whether it be in prayer or in our everyday talk, can be used as evidence by either the enemy or God to show how much we trust the Lord for healing or for whatever we have asked for in faith to God, the bible says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:21 (ESV) so we have a choice whether to speak life or to speak death regarding our faith-filled prayers, we must be constantly alert as to what comes out of our mouths, as this may delay or push forward the answer to our prayer.

Conduct

What we do, watch or listen to can affect our attitude and our spiritual performance, the Bible says “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” Romans 10:17 (ESV) and “And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you”. Mark 4:24 (ESV) Both of these scriptures show that we can either help our grow and get closer to the Lord or we can delay or even lessen the amount of access we give the Lord in our lives.
