Trusting God part 3

The Teaching tonight is summarised as the rate of our belief put on the action(simply termed FAITH) equate our TRUST
Our trust in God actually reflects our Confidence & hope in God which bring forth expectations

2Timothy1:12b says

But I am not ashamed for I know whom I have believed & am convinced that he is able to keep what I have committed unto him

In Mathew 8:23-26, let’s check through our various versions of the scripture

Matthew 8:23-26 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Lesson learned;
**people who yielded themselves & followed the commands & directions of Jesus(God the Son)
**yet there was a negative circumstances of storm

Verse 26: Why are you afraid o you of little faith, then Jesus arose & rebuke the storm
LOSS OF FAITH RESULTS IN FAILING TRUST

Mathew 14: 25-32 also gives deeper revelation of this

Matthew 14:25-32 New International Version (NIV)

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

Luke 17:5 tells of the apostles who had the understanding of this and they sincerely cried unto the Lord “INCREASE OUR FAITH”

Mark 9:17-24 also reveals a man who son had a dumb spirit which even brought convulsion on him

Mark 9:17-24 New International Version (NIV)

17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”

19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”

20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”

“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”

23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Verse 24 gives a touch in my spirit of how the man received the miracle
“HE TREMBLED & CRIED LORD I BELIEVE, HELP ME WITH MY DOUBTS”
