Humility part 2

Written by Allen Ossuetta

We’ve learnt a whole lot about Humility already so today I’ll be building on the already laid foundation with these subtopics..

  1. What does God see as Humility
  2. Why does God want us to be humble

And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.  And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.

Deut 8:2-3

God humbled them by trials to what end you may ask.

He needed them to realise that man needs God to survive

God didn’t create man to survive or function outside or without Him so whatever man tries to do outside God or without involving Him will be done in Pride without humility

Total Dependency on God is seen as humility by God.

Let’s take a look at the First being who decided to sideline God. ( Become Proud )

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above y heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14:13‭-‬15 KJV

This was Lucifer’s thoughts

He decided to go from God’s will to I will

He was cast down as a result of this…

Lack of humility

So we’ve been able to establish that God sees dependency on Him as humility acknowledging Him as humility

Now let’s go to why God needs us to be humble

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

This is you telling God “hey I don’t need you”

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: ( how do you humble yourself? By ) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:5‭-‬7 KJV

We’ve been thought be really strong

We’ve been told we can do it.

Almost every lesson centered around us and not Jesus

How many times have we testified but deep down we know we achieved that testimony ourselves.

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:8 KJV

I’ll end with this …

Humility to God starts from the heart

Lucifer thought in his heart

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:6 KJV

Why doesn’t He just direct your path as a loving God?

He needs you to acknowledge Him, show Him you need him ( Be humble ) then HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH

There are so many proud believers if we go by this

( Now the man Moses was very humble (gentle, kind, devoid of self-righteousness), more than any man who was on the face of the earth.)
NUMBERS 12:3 AMP

Moses?

Humble?
How?

He murdered, He broke the Ten commandments yet!!!

And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
Exodus 33:15 KJV

Read about Him

Moses depended on God!!! and that made him the most humble man on Earth

It is my prayer that God opens our spirit to depend on Him so that We can acquire His Grace in Jesus name
