MORNINGTUDE

So I woke up
To the warm sun,
The crow of the cock,
And horn from the keke.

When I opened my eyes
I saw the sky blue;
With a dash of white clouds
Here and there.

Just before I stood up
I heard the water carriers,
Pass by with their carts;
Till I heard them no more.

As I awoke from my sleep,
I found out that everything;
Was meant to be for me
If only I’ll open my eyes to it.

  1. How did you come up with such a powerfully inspiring work in a few lines? Wow!

    “…everything was meant to be for me, if only I’ll open my eyes to it.”

    Thank you for this, Chukwudi.
