We live for ourselves
Sometimes for our children,
Hardly for our country,
Often times, for our God
Sometimes we’re merry
Sometimes we’re weary;
Sometimes we’re happy
Sometimes we’re grumpy –
We wish, we wish
That in one swoosh,
‘Twill be alright;
And e’erything straight
We live to love?
And love to live?
Maybe we need more
Time, hug, laughter
Smile, joy, gladness;
And, family
Sometimes, like now,
It feels more like
My pen bounces,
Back, forth it goes;
Without reason
But I pray that
I will make sense
After one reads it,
And another one,
Ponder on them…
