Rust Away (Part One)

Destruction is My Name

The chains that surround you each day, forcing you to live a life that you never wanted or would ever conceive. The words that you hear each passing day on who you should be or what will become of you, continue to flood your mind from the moment you open your eyes in the morning.

Such an existence is what I now live today…

My name is Cosmo built with the intent to destroy whatever may lay in my path, no one not even myself is aware of who our creator is or why he made us this way but all we know of is his wish for us to bring about destruction to the world around us.

But is that life I really want to live, one that is preordained, a destiny that has already been written out for me, one that I have no say in at all.

[ERROR]

Letters that flashed before my eyes as I was scanned, checked to see if my programming was up to date, but to my despair I noted to be faulty, a robot weaker than those before or after me.

I was thrown away without a second thought, those that I saw as friends looked at me with different eyes, they thought of me to be a disgrace, a thing that should have never been born.

But to me, it was a chance to write my own story, my destiny was now in my own hands.

If only this world would let a machine like myself live in such a carefree manner, as far as they know I am built for their destruction.

A New Generation

Decades came and gone I felt a chilling within my circuitry and knew that my master had passed away, the public later confirmed my feeling, but I didn’t despair over it, instead I felt like a chain had been broken and I was set free.

Decades came and gone I felt a chilling within my circuitry and knew that my master had passed away, the public later confirmed my feeling, but I didn’t despair over it, instead I felt like a chain had been broken and I was set free.

I was the only one of my kind remaining in the world, most had died or rusted, and though I was on the way to the same fate, but then a man with eyes of compassion retrieved me from the graveyard and transformed me into a new machine, now fit to go on with a new purpose.

A new beginning was paved for me.

Born for Rejection

Thanks to my new master named Baron Rust I was born anew, I immediately set out to the world and wanted to fit in with the crowd, I tried laughing with them, singing along with their melodies and even playing their games but they always treated me like I didn’t belong, as if I was an alien to them.

Unfortunately, my memory of the past was erased after the repairs master Baron had done on me, so I was without knowledge as to why the people around me treated me so harshly.

I have asked Baron countless times what my past was, but he would give no word to it. I have tried asking the public, but they’d just give me a look of disgust or ignoring my very presence.

Day after day I’d get spat on for just being around, the time came when they wanted to destroy me, but every time Baron would step in and stand up for me, protecting me as though I was his only child.

I want to know who I was and why they hate me so.

This concludes part one of Rust Away.
